A great opening sentence should allow you to quickly introduce yourself, your Company and to establish if you are talking to the appropriate decision maker - 

• there’s no point diving into the script only to find at the end of your spiel that you’re actually speaking to the wrong person! 

If they sound busy or rushed, ask if it’s a good time to talk and when would be a more suitable time to call back. They will respect you for being sensitive and the invitation to call back will register the level of interest they have.
